Holiday & I

Holiday… masa yang di tunggu-tunggu oleh semua orang. Cuti!! No class, no book, no work! Time to rest. The town of Cromwell is famous for its ideal landscape where various types of fruit are grown such as peaches, pears, apricots, nectarines, cherries and apples. The vibrant sculpture and sign are just the beginning to the unique town of Cromwell which offers an endless list of activities. The Fruit sculpture is located at the entrance to the town of Cromwell in Central Otago, South Island, New Zealand.

At that time I was studying in Otago University, Dunedin, New Zealand. It was during summer holiday. Siti, Dewi, Erawati, Yati and I decided to go to Cromwell for a day. We rent a car. Dewi drove the car as she was the only one who had driving license. The wheather was excellent. The sun shone brightly and it was windy. We stopped at a few places to rest and take pictures. For the first time in my life I saw a very big lake, Lake dunstan. In no time we all dipped our leg into the water. Burrrr… it was very cold! Just like the water from the refrigerator. I took the chance to taste the water. It was tasteless.Tasik le katakan.

The most unforgettable event happened during our way back to Dunedin. It was raining drizzly. The road was wet and slippery. At one of the traffic lights, our car skied and hit the car in front. We were very scared at that time. Luckily not much damages on the other car but our RENTED car was dented here and there. When it’s time to return the car, we were honest to tell the rental company about the accident. In the end, we scope a few hundred dollars to pay for the damages.
